Self tapping stainless screws for hive assembly. Stainless matters more on a beehive than on most joinery, because the box spends its life wet, and a rusting screw stains the timber and loses its grip in the end grain.
The sharp point starts without a pilot hole in pine, and the countersunk Phillips head pulls flush so nothing catches when boxes stack.
