SHALLOW Size Unassembled Pine Timber Frames - Grooved Top and Bottom Bars

The Shallow sized langstroth frames (5 3/8") are made from pine timber and feature a solid 1/2" (13mm) grooved bottom bar, which makes them suitable for either wax or plastic foundation. The side bars also feature 2 pre-drilled holes to allow for wiring of frames if required.

Shallow sizes frames and supers are approximately 40% smaller than the more commonly used Deep size and are for this reason much easier on the back. They are also commonly used to make cut comb honey.

These frames come in both commercial grade and select grade timber. The commercial grade may have some superficial knots or discolourations in the timber. The Select grade is a higher grade knot free timber.

Please note these frames come flat packed and unassembled. Please also note nails for assembly are not included but can be purchased separately.
