DRONE Plastic Foundation – Deep – Pink

DRONE plastic foundation differs from ordinary foundation in that the cell size is larger. The distinctive pink color makes it easy to identify in the hive at a glance.

Common uses of frone foundation:

• Queen rearing operations and mating nucleus colonies
• Varroa mite management through drone brood trapping
• Maintaining genetic diversity in your apiary
• Easier honey extraction – when used in the honey supers the larger cells make spinning thick honey varieties like tupelo, buckwheat, or late-season goldenrod significantly easier (use a queen excluder to keep brood out of honey supers)

Waxing Options: Choose unwaxed to coat with your own rendered beeswax for a closed-loop system, or select pre-waxed for immediate use and faster colony acceptance. For best results, unwaxed foundation should be coated with a thin layer of melted beeswax before installation.
