Will it stop me getting stung?
No suit or jacket is fully sting-proof, but the ventilated mesh adds a barrier that helps reduce the chance of a sting. Wearing a light layer underneath adds extra protection.
Fencing veil or round hat veil — what's the difference?
A fencing veil zips to the jacket and sits close to the head; a round hat veil uses a brimmed hat to hold the mesh away from your face. Both give clear visibility — it comes down to preference.
Which size should I choose?
Size by height using the chart above. If you're between sizes or plan to layer underneath, size up.
Does it include gloves?
Only if you select the gloves add-on at checkout.
Can I machine wash it?
Hand wash and air dry only — no dryer, bleach or ironing.
Is it cooler than a cotton suit?
Yes — the ventilated mesh lets air circulate, so it's noticeably cooler in hot weather than solid cotton.
The 3 layer mesh Jacket is great and very strong and well made. I wished I had purchased one long before. I prefer the Jacket far better than the one piece suit.
New to world of beekeeping, began with the jacket, veil and gloves. Had a slight issue with attaching zippers between veil and jacket, solved by my wife who said the issue was mine rather than the zips. Jacket stayed cool for 30min in the midday spring sun and foiled all attempts at insect penetration. Very happy have avoided the full space suit at this point. Leather gloves reduced tactile feedback may try some washing up gloves!

Good Quality
Purchased the 3 layer mesh jacket with fencing veil, in XL size and normally a medium. Fits well and seems to be well made. Biggest downside for me is the zip on the veil that allows the front to be opened for say a drink of water. The zip obscures too much vision when tending to my hives.

Very good quality 3 layer jacket at a great price. I personally go 1 size bigger for a little room but sizing is spot on.
Enjoying my half suit mowing lawn or doing gardening near the girls I still wear the full suit checking the hive quick to put on 🐝
Great, husband will even wear it, true to size.
Unfortunately one of the zips had detached from the zipper and becer wanted to go back on.
Other than that the material is good and hood works well with front opening.
I've just received my new jacket, very impressed with the quality fabric and strong zips. Fencing style veil is good. Unfortunately a size too small, help from The Bee store for a smooth exchange was most appreciated. Cant wait to get the right fit and put it too good use. Recommended.

The jacket is suitable but the hat is way oversized and falls down over my face sadly.
Ordered bee suit & gloves on the 27th of September, still haven't received it, via Direct Freight, today is the 18th October.

Purchased the half suit to wear when mowing grass around the hive and trimming hedges that are very near to the hive.

Was happy with the jacket, but disappointed with the round hat veil. The quality of the veil was not good. The hat should have been made of more substantial material and the mesh seems very thin, will that last with it joined to the round steel inserts. Will see how it performs, but next time probably would not order the round hat veil again.

Very good fit (Sizing is one smaller than I'd usually buy but I ordered bigger due to other reviews so not an issue), reasonable price and works great! Will definitely use the Bee Store again.
This is the second piece of Bee Keeping clothing I have purchased from The Bee Store. Products are exactly as described and do the job well.
