Everything for making and finishing candles, sold in bulk: gum rosin, microcrystalline and paraffin wax in pellets and blocks, triple pressed stearic acid, and silicone tealight molds. These are the raw materials chandlers and beekeepers use alongside their own beeswax, and they are stocked in wholesale quantities rather than craft-shop packets.

What is gum rosin used for?

Gum rosin is pine resin, distilled and cooled into solid amber chunks. In candle making it improves scent throw and helps hold fragrance in the wax. It is also used in soap making, as a tacking agent, in adhesives and varnishes, and by musicians on bow hair. Ours is sold as bulk chunks, not powder.

Which wax do I want?

Paraffin is the standard, inexpensive candle wax and takes color and fragrance readily. Microcrystalline is stickier and more flexible, used to raise the melting point of a blend, to reduce cracking, and for wax dipping. Stearic acid is an additive rather than a wax: a small percentage hardens the candle, raises the melt point and makes it burn longer and more opaquely. Pellets melt faster and measure more easily than blocks.

What about beeswax?

If you are working with your own wax, the silicone molds cast blocks and tealights, and the same range includes foundation molds for pressing your own sheets.

Frequently asked questions

Do you sell in wholesale quantities?

Yes. The bulk waxes and rosin are sold by the sack rather than the ounce, which is what makes them worth shipping.

Can I blend microcrystalline with beeswax?

Yes, and it is common. A small proportion raises the melting point and reduces cracking in poured blocks without changing the color much.
